When developing a new wood chipper, we always strive for the perfect balance between performance, user-friendliness, and safety. For example, the input needs to have a comfortable working height, but also requires a safe distance from the rotor. These rules and guidelines are described in detail in the European EN standards.
Naturally, our machines also carry a CE declaration, as every European manufacturer is required to do. However, there's a big difference between grading your own homework and having a certified teacher do it. That's why, in addition to the CE mark, we choose to have our wood chippers tested by an independent notified body.
In addition to the regular garden machinery standard (NEN-EN 13683+A2), our large wood chippers comply with the strict forestry standard (NEN-EN 13525). This distinguish GTM Professional from other manufacturers. Because user safety is our top priority.
The wood chippers in the 600, 750, and 900 series are equipped with an emergency stop button that is easily accessible in emergencies. Pressing the emergency button immediately shuts down the engine. The machines in the 1300 and 1800 series have panic bar around the input. In addition, these larger models have two safety switches on the input and output that prevent the machine from operating during maintenance.
The panic bar is mounted close around the input to prevent branches from catching and accidentally pressing the bar. The panic bar on our PTO model operates independently of the tractor. When the bar is pressed, the drum drive is mechanically interrupted. Therefore, no electrical connection is required.

It's obvious that we produce safe and reliable machines. But we can only achieve our goals if the user handles them responsibly. So, what should you know before using a wood chipper?
