How much motor oil do I need ?
Consult the engine manual for this.
The electric engine won't start. What should I do?
A fuse is defective. Replace the fuse and free the rotor to check the cause.
The rotor may jam due to excessive accumulated material or remaining wood chips. Is there a blockage? First, check if you can resolve this and read the answer to the question: What to do in case of a blockage?
To unblock the rotor, the machine must be switched off. As an extra precaution, you can remove the spark plug cap or, in the case of an electric motor, unplug it from the socket. Usually, it is sufficient to place the supplied wrench on the rotor shaft in the bearing block and turn the rotor back slightly. In case of a severe blockage, the input and output must be removed and cleaned. Also remove any remaining wood chips on the rotor or inside the housing.
Caution: the blades are razor-sharp! Always wear cut-resistant gloves and use a branch or other tool to remove wood chips. Don't forget to check the blades at the same time.

What to do in case of a blockage?
Check if large pieces of wood are the cause of the blockage and remove them, for example with a branch. Never touch the blades with your bare hands. A push tool is included with our compo wood chippers to compress accumulated material and thus clear the blockage.
Is the rotor blocked as a result of the blockage? Then read what to do under the question: The rotor is blocked, what should I do?

Which European standards do the machines comply with?
All machines comply with the standard garden machinery standard (NEN-EN 13683+A2). In addition, our larger wood chippers comply with the strict forestry standard (NEN-EN 13525). This is how GTM Professional distinguishes itself from other manufacturers. Read more in our blog about safety.
How do I use a wood chipper?
Before using the machine, it is important to check that the input is empty. Remaining wood chips can prevent the machine from starting. Also check that all bolts and nuts are properly tightened and ensure that the emergency stop is not pressed before starting the machine.
Point the deflector and/or turnable output towards the location where you want the wood chips and start the motor. Insert the branches into the input and release them when they are pulled in. Fresh wood is chipped most smoothly. It is therefore recommended to process the branches shortly after pruning.
Side branches thicker than 3 cm (2 cm for the 600 series) are best removed beforehand and fed in separately. Thick branches must be fed in one by one and in a controlled manner. Ensure that the motor speed does not drop too low.
Are you finished? Then let the machine run empty for another 30 seconds to ensure that no wood chips have been left behind in the rotor housing. Are you using the wood chipper for the first time? Then please read the user manual first and observe the safety instructions.
